Painting with fork!  Mr. Leprechaun
Use a brown crayon to draw a face shape.  Use a black crayon to draw on a mouth and nose, use a pink crayon to make the rosy cheeks.  Press a fork into orange paint to make the beard and hair.  Add a construction paper hat and googly eyes!

Cut out Pot of gold shapes from black and yellow construction paper

Roll dice to make addition sentences.  Add the numbers together and glue the correct sum (gold pieces) in to the pot

Leprechaun Rainbow Hat

Trace a Leprechaun Hat onto green paper

Cut out a black strip from black construction paper and a yellow buckle from gold paper.  

Cut out strips of blue, green, yellow, orange and red paper

Directions:  Cut out the hat.

Glue on the black strip and yellow buckle.

Flip the hat over and glue on the rainbow strips.  (We glued our strips on the wrong way - as you can see, so make sure when you flip the hat over to start gluing on the right side of the hat!)

Paper Plate Leprechaun
Color a paper plate with a skin tone crayon
Cut a hat from green paper along with a black strip and a yellow buckle
Cut squares of orange tissue paper
Glue the orange squares of tissue paper around the edge of the paper plate
Glue on the hat and accessories to the hat
Draw a face on the leprechaun
Add more tissue paper squares for the beard and hair

Clothespin Pot of Gold
Cut a black pot of gold from craft foam
Cut gold coins from yellow craft foam
Directions:  Paint the clothes pins - red, orange, yellow, green and blue
Let the clothespins dry
Glue the gold coins onto the pot of gold
Stick craft foam letters onto the pot to spell each name.
Clip on the painted clothespins

Muffin Paper Shamrock
These were so easy to make.  Here are the directions!
We used watercolor paint instead food coloring!

Shamrock Paper Plate Hats

Draw a shamrock onto a paper plate

Color or paint both sides of the paper plate

Cut out the middle of the plate and around the shamrock

Rainbow Chain Pot of Gold!

Cut out a pot of gold from black paper
Cut out 7 gold coins for each pot of gold
Glue the coins to the top of the pot
Cut a black strip of paper and tape it in a loop to the back of the pot
Cut strips from - red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple paper 
Loop the purple strip through the black handle of the pot of gold and staple
Continue with the blue strip, then green . . .  until finished

Shamrock Placemats and a Pot of Gold!

 Here is our St. Patrick's Day Placemat.  Connor is on Spring Break this week, so he was really excited to be able to make a placemat. 

Directions:  Decorate a sheet of white paper with different types of shamrocks.  Mat the paper with green paper and cover with Con-tact paper.

I saw this next craft on my blogger friend's blog http://www.adventures-in-mommy-land.blogspot.com/  She always has great projects.  This pot of gold craft was too cute to not make

Directions:  Cut a pot out of black construction paper - cut an opening on the top of the pot.  Lay the pot on a piece of Con-tact paper - sticky side up.  Add pieces of yellow tissue paper.  Cover the pot with another piece of Con-tact paper ( I made sure there was enough Con-tact paper to just fold over the top of the pot). 

Materials Needed:  black construction paper, Cont-tact paper, scissors, yellow tissue paper

Shamrock stamping!

Project - Shamrock Stamping - This is a project from 3 years ago. Connor was only 2 when we did this - he will be 5 next week!!!!! Directions - Dip a shamrock cookie cutter into green paint and press onto white construction paper. Mount dried paper onto larger green construction paper! I remember Connor and Lauren making a mess with this project, but also having a lot of fun dipping the shamrock cookie cutter into the green paint!

Materials Needed- white and green construction paper, green paint, shamrock cookie cutter

Shamrock Beaded Necklace!

Day 2 of the week - The theme this week is St. Patrick's Day. The letters of the week are s, U, u the number of the week is 15.
Project - Shamrock Beaded Necklace- Directions - Cut green ribbon large enough to slip on and off child's neck. String green and white beads onto green ribbon (I had Connor and Lauren make a pattern), Cut a small shamrock pattern out of green craft foam, once you are halfway punch two holes in the side leaves of the shamrock and thread ribbon through the holes, finish stringing the last half of the beads onto the ribbon, Tie a knot to make a necklace. *Connor made a necklace, but he refused to wear it! He is such a boy!!!! Addie is modeling his necklace in the picture along with Lauren. I saw a variation of this craft at http://www.prekinders.com under the St. Patrick's Day Theme. Materials Needed - green ribbon, green and white beads, green foam, scissors, hole punch

Dimensional Shamrock!

Day 1 of the week - The theme this week is St. Patrick's Day. The letters of the week are s, U, u the number of the week is 15.

Project - Dimensional Shamrock - I saw this project on http://www.thebestkidsbooksite.com/st.patricksday.crafts.cfm under Dimensional Shamrock. Directions - Trace shamrock template (from the website) onto green card stock. Cut out the 2 shamrock shapes (Connor and Lauren did their own cutting). Cut slits into the shamrocks (the templates show where to cut the slits), decorate the cut out shamrock's with glitter, buttons . . ., slip shamrocks into place to create dimensional shamrock. **Decorate both sides of the shamrocks - we did not do this. The finished product will look much nicer if both sides are decorated!*** Materials Needed - green card stock, scissors, shamrock template, glue, glitter, buttons
